What we do

Time to take action

Our multi-stakeholder approach ensures that issues and challenges are understood equally by all and enables solutions to be developed together that address the root causes of the problems in the cocoa value chain.

Each member of the Cocoa Platform is committed to more sustainability in the cocoa value chain by taking individual responsibility and action. For holistic solutions, however, the efforts of the individual parties must be bundled in order to use synergies effectively. With its networking concept, the Cocoa Platform offers an ideal environment for this.

The members of the Cocoa Platform have extensive expertise on cocoa which they share at member events and in working groups. Best practices are developed and implemented in projects in cocoa-growing countries. To measure the progress of the projects as well as the commitment of the members, the so-called Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework (MEL), has been developed and is currently being implemented and benchmarked against other international initiatives. The Cocoa Platform reports transparently to the public on its progress and difficulties in implementation. In addition, international collaboration and ongoing dialogue with the authorities and organisations in the growing countries are crucial to exerting influence across the industry.
