16 April: How can we work towards greater gender equity in the cocoa sector?

Our member Equal Origins is addressing this question through the launch of the Gender Equity Learning & Innovation Network (GENLIN) — a new industry platform aimed at accelerating practical progress on gender equity across global cocoa supply chains. Sign up for the first webinar on 16 April.

GENLIN brings together origin teams from ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd. and other members of the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa. The first session on 16 April marks the start of a year-long exchange focused on peer learning, shared tools, and collaborative implementation.

Women play a central role across cocoa production — from fieldwork to post-harvest activities — yet continue to face structural barriers to accessing training, resources, and decision-making processes. A supply chain cannot reach its full potential if key actors are excluded. GENLIN seeks to address this by strengthening organisational practices.

At a time when expectations around due diligence, transparency, and measurable impact are increasing, GENLIN provides a structured space to translate gender commitments into concrete action — in a practical, scalable, and accessible way.

As the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa, we are glad to contribute to this initiative and encourage cocoa traders, origin teams, sustainability experts, and brands interested in building more resilient and inclusive supply chains to get involved.
